Visitor Visa Subclass 600
Prior to organizing your trip to Australia, you need to be aware of the prerequisites and the application process for a tourist visa.
Depending on each visitor's goal, the Australian Immigration Department has created many pathways for them to travel across Australia.
Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
Visitor visas are divided into three main streams, depending on the purpose of your Visit
- Tourist Stream
if you wish to explore Australia, sightseeing Natural and Cultural attractions, lifestyle, and just have a vacation.
To be eligible: must provide sufficient funds to support yourself while in Australia and Provide evidence of your Travel Itinerary, and travel plan.
- Business Visitor Stream
If you plan to visit Australia for Business Related activities; e.g. attending business meetings/seminars/ conferences, Business inquiries /negotiations, etc.
To be eligible: you must have an invitation from an Australian business and provide evidence of your business-related activities in Australia.
- Sponsored Family Stream
if You have a family /relatives/friend in Australia who is willing to be your sponsor.
To be eligible: you must have a Valid Sponsorship from an Eligible Sponsor and meet the Health and character requirements.
- Approved Destination Status Stream: (For Chinese Passport holders only)
eVisitor Visa (Subclass 651)
The eVisitor Visa is for passport holders from Europe who want to visit Australia for tourism or business.
Who Can Apply?
- Citizens of European Union countries, UK, Switzerland, Norway, etc.
Duration:
- Up to 3 months per visit (valid for 12 months)
- Multiple entries allowed
Key Conditions:
- No work allowed
- Study allowed for up to 3 months
- Apply from outside Australia
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) Visa (Subclass 601)
The ETA Visa is similar to the eVisitor Visa but available for citizens of certain countries like the USA, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
Who Can Apply?
- Citizens of eligible countries (mainly from North America & Asia-Pacific)
Duration:
- Up to 3 months per visit (valid for 12 months)
- Multiple entries allowed
Key Conditions:
- No work allowed
- Study allowed for up to 3 months
- Must apply from outside Australia
